Digital Humanities

The Digital Humanities Club for middle school students in the Madison and Venice, Illinois, was offered in partnership with the Mannie Jackson Center for the HumanitiesMadison and Venice school districts, and the SIUE IRIS Center. Through digital humanities, students applied computational tools and methods to traditional humanities disciplines. For example, our club participants created podcasts discussing topics that are personally meaningful to them. Our participants in the Digital Humanities Club range from grades 6th through 8th. The Digital Humanities Clubs aim to give participants those skills that allow them to create and disseminate their own digital content so they can share what they are passionate about in their communities.
