The STEM Student Ambassador program is designed for SIUE undergraduate students in biology, chemistry, education, microbiology, mathematics, or physics to engage in collaborative teams to improve inclusion and equity in STEM undergraduate classes.
In this program, students:
- Design STEM-based education research projects
- Engage in a learning community of STEM faculty and educators
- Critically analyze literature that focuses on understanding issues related to inclusivity and diversity in STEM
- Complete ethics training
- Collaborate with STEM and education faculty
- Collaborate with peers in interdisciplinary teams
- Engage in immersive, one-one-one mentoring with STEM and education instructors
- Attend professional development and social activities
